many tas runs state they use "manipulates luck" means that savestates are used to reload to get the desired item/hit. reloading to get crit hits i would classify as manipulating luck

pirate states that a new trick is used. throwing holy water after a hydro storm gives a full screen holy water attack.

Btw pirate, if critical hits are bullshit, then you have to fucking explain to me why you use savestate, or why whenever i reload couple of times it goes faster (see my pics...)

Its not bullshit, else give real explanation, i use exactly as you the holy water, and the result is never the same

And about this been a mistery, again its wrong, theres no mistery at all, within the whole game with alucard or richter you can do criticals hits :/

Edit : i will try whenever i got a chance, i guess i can use cheat code to enable spirit orb relic within the prologue...

arukAdo, it's like I wrote in the youtube video description... you need to throw the holy water vial AT A VERY SPECIFIC MOMENT to activate the glitch.
I used savestates to hit 2nd Dracula with the air dash as well, because that requires very strict timing too. I assure you that I didn't do any critical hits.

Then explain how it worked for me, dumbly i hited twice in a row the holy water at this unique moment ... ?

I tell you if i reload i dont get the same times, that my point, now if you think you got something new about holy water timing ok fine, but that dont explain more my case then


Edit : i tryed to put on spirit orb code but sadly it doesnt affect intro, i realy dont know how whe could output damage taken

I think Arukado is right about critical hits, the holy water thing is not a glitch, you just happened to get a critical hit when you used it at a specific time. Much like triggering the infinite glitch while using a certain weapon--it wasn't the weapon that triggered the glitch, you just happened to be using that weapon when you triggered the glitch.

But I do think Arukado is wrong about something else: X-X!V''Q does affect Richter in the prologue, and give him a better chance of getting critical hits--it doesn't mean that using the luck code is cheating, it's not. But it is something that should be made known to people watching a speed-run video. I really hope you can get a spirit orb code in the prologue...that would settle all disagreements.

edit: I did many tests for Prologue speed-runs (regular mode & luck mode) and the luck mode attempts always came under 40 seconds, I could never get a regular mode prologue under 40 seconds...but keep in mind that my fastest time is 37 seconds, so compared to some of you guys, I'm slow!

im talking to esco about getting some codes or something to enable damage numbers in this battle. He has seen this kind of bug with the holy water and had already patched it in his hack

Here is the gameshark code provided for the USA Version

I have tested the codes and they work. whip deals 32 hydro dealing 80 per

I agree that critical hits happen in Richter in prolouge since I also experienced it. I damaged Dracula more than the damage a normal hit can. But it only happened to me several times...

The bug of yours is cool pirate! I appreciate that you can discover lots of bugs quickly! Well, if possible please discover the exact time to throw the holy water subweapon to activate the glitch. I trust you this time, since you discovered the glitch. I believe you can tell us the exact time. If you do, that will surely be cool!!

I wonder why you insist with these things... there are NO critical hits.
Last night I figured it out... It's actually better then I thought. All the glitch does is make the Hydrostorm hit with the speed of the Holy Water. Period. Shut up and disappear. Forget the intro, just go in a Richter game and try it in Legion or Galamoth.
greyback17, it's hard to say exactly when is the right moment... it's likely to be a very short window, a few frames before or after the Hydrostorm hits the enemy. In normal gameplay, it's just a matter of luck(yours, not Richter's).

Dim : can you ask rather a code to output the damage like the spirit orb does? else if its not possible to activate it in the prologue, im sure esco can do a very small script that would only output on a seperate log/windows the damages, that way at least whe can be sure

Btw, doing galamoth... like i sayd pirate its good if you finded a glitch increasing speed (or damage... who care) ... but the point is not there
Fighting galamoth even with light speed hydrostorm will result in ... criticals hits one way or another (except youll see them on screen lol)

I don't know if this code will work in prologue, but you can test it:

Spirit Orb: 8009796E 0303

*You can use relic codes in Richter's game (I know it work but I don't tested in prologue). Pick up my codes or the Symbolic's and give a try!!

This code shows damage in the prologue--it's the same as having a spirit orb equipped--nothing else is needed. All we need is to test for the "glitch" and for difference of critical hits on luck mode vs. reg. mode.
