outofthegamer wrote:Hi Glitch Maniac, and welcome to WBW!! It's strange, we have a member named Glitchmaniac already (doesn't really post anymore) and there was a guy named Aethan who posted once--and had almost the exact same sig as you:My current glitch status:
SoTN: 285.6%
SoTN (map glitch): 347.8%
DoS: 300.4%
Is that you??? and what the hell is the map glitch????!?!?!! S4R, save glitch, DHR??? There are dozens of map glitches for SotN, why have 2 separate percentages?
So anyway, back to DoS. 300.5% is very good, but is that with warping? You know, when your map cursor moves up very quickly on the screen for 4 minutes. Or is it from free exploration? I get the impression that you have done some free exploration; and to clarify your findings, I'll explain the map configuration of DoS.
When you leave the castle, there is dozens of map screens of space in every direction. Depending on the situation, you can go up, down, left, or right; and completely wrap around the game area. That's right, you will end up back where you started eventually. For Portrait of Ruin it is 54 map screens, but for DoS I haven't been able to nail down a specific number...I think it's a lot more than 54. And extra percentage usually appears in random sized chunks at certain distances away from the castle.
Usually 5-10 map screens away.
The most % I ever got in DoS was 299.4%, but it was without any map warping at all! Unfortunately I messed up my file recently (trying to nail down the procedure for turning into Julius without warping--never did get it perfected). I had to start over, but the good news is, I'm starting a warp file now-- to see how high of a % I can get. I'll let you know what I get...
Yh thats me, i'm Aethan and for some reason I messed up on my registration, I got your PM earlier and i'll keep this account plz. So yh, The 300.5% was with warping and my 2 SoTN ones are one without the save room map reset and the other one is without using the save room map reset glitch. I havent actually been able to increase the map percentage for a long time on my Dos game now.
Thx for the help btw with the floor exploration and also 299.4% with no warping, impressive , I didn't actually think there was so many map layers to be honest either. BTW an effect on my game with the succubus glitch was a problem on my top screen. The castle at the top from the opening screen is there and doesn't go away and if I use a teleport then the name of the destination that I leave the room is stuck up there, I believe that the game has lost the ability to read the map on my top screen and displays the last image on the top screen. The best bit is getting clothes as weapons . I'm going to start a new game on a second file for some new warping experimentation. If I find anything new I will let you know SYL,
